Hello, long time no see again. I'm turning back with this speed concept, so.. Hope you like it (=.

Silos like this were built on planets with enough solar energy coming onto them. Pure water inside them was ionized by a system using photon collecting solar-panels, to provide fusion power to the according ships. Several longer pipes were positioned for ships to suck fuel into them.

Waow, this is terrific !! I surely see Mars settlements looking like that and with such panorama.
This picture fits quite well to Kim Stanley Robinson's Red Mars novel!
