Space Weaponary W-303 by Siamon89 Space Weaponary W-303 by Siamon89
This section of the massive weaponary shows the particle-crafting section of it. Advanced weapon-crafting techniques were ten decades ahead of the current technology, like speed fusion lathing, which is a nano-precise technique that creates prototype pieces of nano-precise-measuring within just seconds.

Max+PS as usual. Hope you like it ;)

Here is a turbo-high res RAW render of it: [link]

Since Im not a Premium Member you have to take my crit this way :) !

First Look on your image and there are only two things "bothering" me. First is the shape of the window and the ceilingcabinet-thing. I can see you trying to find extraordinary or unusual shapes. But it does not work for me personally. Especially the windowshape brings in a lot of dirsturbance, since I canīt tell if this uneven shape was planned or an "accident",...which it was not, looking at your previous works. So , i quite dont understand the reason for that. I probably dont have an issue with the cabinet, I really like the ceiling shape, but the window is really strange and "problem". The second thing is that you have a big black spot starting on the left side and moving to the center of your entire image (speaking of the black, deep space) buuut, the only thing you see there is the reflection of the laser thing. Also very disturbing. It could be also a ship passing by, you cant tell for sure. The Lamp hanging from the ceiling makes a really bright spot on the wall, you barely can see that reflection there. Maybe the reflection is too low. These are my crits so far. Overall its a nice image. The mood is great and it definitely fulfills its intension.
Looking forward for more work....

Thanks for the extensive comment.

I see the window is disturbing to so much people, I wish I had made it some kind of more smooth! (=. My excuse in this would be the window is shaped that way to match the fluidity of the ceiling. It's not an accident of course. The reflection on the wall bothers me as well, a friend of mine mentioned the same thing too. IDK why but mental ray rendered it like that :\.

BTW in a critique you give stars for each category, so I want them!!! (=.

And I'm going to defend the window. My first impressions after seeing its shapes together with the ceiling were like 'this is a fresh design'. For me, it's really good looking and far from the usual in a beautiful way. Keep it up that way, you're breaking the sci-fi cliche here :)

Of course I love the overall image. But I'm really struck by all the detail. The reflections in the floor and window really add realism. I really like the little lights in the hinges of the ceiling panels. Very cool. They vaguely remind me of a scene in "2010" where the "spirit" Dave visits his wife and all these tiny lights seem to be crawling everywhere.

ah, shiny as usual... the scrubwoman has to work like hell to get that shininess... ;P

like the soft colors and he whole light arrangement!

however, I've to agree with onemanmafia08, using more soft curves then straight edges would give a whole smoother scene... or just plain straight lines, everything very symmetrical and straight... would give us a very clean look of this room... like you did in some of your pics before (yesss... I like simply and straight... )

Thanks sparksman (=.

Hmm, some say that yeah, but you know there is nothing more easy than just chamfering the window's edges and make it look like a curve. Do that and the concept dies (=. In this interior what I wanted to do was really not to use any liquid, curved, smooth surfaces, but instead to make it feel like "polygonal" or "squarish". All matter of taste of course, you know you may see a very similar scene with just liquid, smooth lines on objects in maybe my next rendering (=. I like to experiment with surfaces these days...

as for critique, instead of using polys, I would use nurbs to make a much more curvy look ;) not on the ceiling though as that looks good as squares!

great job either way, great lighting :)
